We pride ourselves in having an excellent team. Every good business needs good staff and we have worked hard to ensure we have a team totally committed to giving a great service to our clients.

We like to ensure that there is an ongoing communication between our clients and ourselves. Consequently each client is allocated a partner and a manager who is available to be contacted by our clients at any time.

Bill Ballard BSc FCA

Bill Ballard founded the practice in 1985, after gaining a civil engineering degree from Bristol University, and a year’s practical experience on a building site.

He then trained as a chartered accountant in Bristol and has worked with Price Waterhouse in Birmingham and Melbourne Australia as a manager.

Bill has a family fruit farm run by his wife Louisa, and he is on the Institute‘s National committee for Farming and Rural Businesses.

Throughout his career, Bill has acted as a business adviser for small and medium sized businesses.

Douglas Dale MA FCA

After reading PPE at Oxford, Douglas joined the marketing department of Proctor & Gamble, before qualifying with Price Waterhouse in Leicester.

He moved to a local firm in Kidderminster to become more involved with business before setting up his own firm in 1989, and merging with Ballard Syree in 2002.

Douglas is a director of several companies, and has extensive experience of advising and being involved in family companies and businesses.

Liz Peters BSc FCA CTA

Liz joined the partnership as a tax adviser in 2006 and was appointed a partner at the start of 2008.

After studying Economics and Statistics at Leeds University she joined a medium firm in Malvern where she qualified first as a chartered accountant and then as a chartered tax adviser. She rose to the position of tax partner in September 1998

She has an in-depth knowledge of all areas of tax and is involved with tax planning side of the partnership giving detailed advice on matters relating to trusts, companies family businesses and individuals.

Liz lives in Malvern and is actively involved in her local church. She was treasurer for a number of years and now assists with the youth work.

Jeremy Syree FCA

Jeremy, born and brought up in Worcestershire qualified with a small firm in Birmingham before joining PKF, a national firm where he was a partner at their West Midland offices.

He joined Bill to set up Ballard Syree in 1991.

Jeremy works mainly with family owned businesses and partnerships, particularly medical practices.

He is on the Institute’s National Health Care Specialist Interest Group which specialises in Medical Practices.

Matthew Watson BA ACA CTA

Matthew lives in Droitwich with his wife and three children. He is actively involved with local charity work in the community through his membership with Round Table.

He qualified with Newby Castleman in Leicester before joining his father in the family firm of W W Watson in Droitwich in 1993.

Matthew is also a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and joined the partnership in 2005.

He primarily offers taxation and accountancy advice to medical practices and consultants, and also to the smaller to medium sized family owned businesses.
